Rain Dance time
it's desperately dry here ...grass fires all around and no rain in sight
trees have dropped their leaves and the ground is cracking ...
garden is way ahead of schedule but we are worried about the well running dry ...
the pond has a tiny bit of water still but considering it's still July it's hard to imagine what August may look like

July Already?
What a busy month June was... blink and it was done
the garden continues to grow like mad (sadly the weeds too)
we have tomatoes already - not ripe but huge ... such weird weather ...

That planting time of year
Big T and I are working hard getting veggie beds ready for planting. We have a mantis tiller for new or really heavy projects but we like our earth worm friends so try to turn the settled beds by hand. Good for soul, even if hard on the back.
Peas, beets and carrots are planted. Potatoes are curing ready for planting. The plan is ready
Peas, carrots, beets, potatoes, garlic, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, corn, asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries, peppers, tomatoes, beans, onions, hopefully some fennel (for Mum), sunchokes, pumpkins, honeydew melon, watermelon, squash, zucchini and a whole lot of herbs are the plan as it stands now. We'll see. It seems every year we come up with a great plan that ends up changing a bit!

Planting and exploring...
A lovely weekend ...
Flowers in the woods - what a pretty time of year in the woods - Trilliums, trout lilies, these little woodland flowers and more...
The pond is very full ... 2 ducks have taken up occupancy
A pretty spot down in the cattle pens (looks like we may have cattle on some of the land this summer!)
The planted flowers are looking good too- also planted the first row of peas and carrots this weekend.
We all had a lovely, heart filling, tiring weekend!

April Farm Flowers and Happy Dogs ...
Rainy damp weekend meant not a lot of work got done but we went for a decent walk anyhow!
Didn't get a picture of the tulips at the entrance to the farm - they are very pretty! So glad they "took"!

is it really April?
the garden is confused too
