hot delightful daze ...

It's that time of year - when a stolen moment or hour is still work - just work we want to do. Headed to the farm today to cut some trails and cut out some bush on a fence line (also collected fresh for the rabbits- but that's an every day activity!).

Sampson got to hit the pond and wallow - then roll in the dry dry grass. He thought it was great.
Big T carefully rigged up his helmet so he wouldn't lose it. It ended up under the blades of the mower. VERY glad his head wasn''t in it.
Sally was very very hot but very very happy!

if you went down to the woods today

you would have gotten quite the shock!

Yup we wooded today .. and it was mucky enough there was no way I was ripping up fields with the truck - so off on the atv we barrelled - with the big dawgs running alongside (if you ever need to tire out a 7 month old golden retriever out - just come borrow the atv on the farm)

We found a dead tree Big T has been watching for quite some time - could get right to it with the the atv and the trailer only took a small piece of it out

He sawed it (using our still running brilliantly Stihl saw) up into chunks, I humped it to the trailer and then we rode out ... FUN and FRUITFUL

FABULOUS to get something done on the first day of a new year

it's going to be mighty hard to go back to work on Monday ....

welcome to a new friend

~ a hard working friend ..a fun riding friend ~ a barely used toy for another family becomes a hard working family member for us .. the bucket in the back is great - the power in the machine is awesome! We zipped around the land on it - through the woods .. past the pond. It's not a great two person ride but it works and it is already obvious how much work we will be able to do with it! Much easier to drive then my truck or any dirt bike or tractor I've driven. I took it through the rough field - puddles are a riot in it! More like a snowmobile then my memories of dirt bikes and three wheel atvs actually. "Kewl" as my students would spell it!
